College Profile

Siliguri College of Commerce, a co-educational and premier Institution of North Bengal was established in 1971-72 to impart commerce & management education to the students of commercial hub of North Bengal. In fact, University of North Bengal sanctioned Commerce as a subject to be taught in Siliguri College w.e.f session 1962-63. Later on, Siliguri College of Commerce was affiliated to as a Govt. Aided College under 2(f) & 12(B) of UGC Act. 1956 and was also affiliated to University of North Bengal. The college shares infrastructure of Siliguri College  by the approval of State Government and is run in evening hours. The teaching hours of the college enable many working people to get higher education and upgrade their qualification in addition to their involvement in job and business. The College was accredited for the first time by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the year 2004. The College updated its academic activities by introduction of Honours in Management and a Self-Financed BBA Course from the session 2005-06. At present the College has three successfully run academic courses – B.Com. Honours Program, B.Com. Program & BBA Honours Program under CBCS mode (since 2018-19). The BBA Course is taught in our Extension Campus since 2005-06. Over the years, the College has made a distinctive mark in academic, games & sports, NCC, NSS & other co-curricular activities. It’s academic result is always on the top of the list. Every year the number of application receive for admission in different courses of our college is almost three times of the seats available.
